This Refund Policy sets out the terms under which refunds may be provided for services contracted with Discreet Private Investigators UK (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By engaging our services, you agree to the terms below.

1. Introductory Summary

Due to the bespoke and case-specific nature of private investigation services, refunds are strictly limited and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances, as described further below.
Our services are time-based, evidence gathering, and operationally deployed, and work typically begins once terms are agreed and/or payment received.

2. Payment and Work Commencement

2.1 Work Begins When:
-
You approve the quote
-
You sign engagement confirmation
-
A deposit is paid (where applicable)
-
Or services are otherwise instructed
At this point, work is considered to have commenced and fees become non-refundable except as stated in this policy.

3. Standard Refund Terms

3.1 Non-Refundable Fees
All fees are non-refundable once work has commenced, including but not limited to:
-

Administrative fees
-
Costs already incurred (if any)
-
Time allocated to your case
Each case will be assessed individually.

4. Exceptional Refund Circumstances

Refunds may be considered (at our discretion) only where:
-
Instructions breach applicable law or ethical standards
-
Work was not begun, and no costs were incurred
-
We are unable to provide the agreed service for reasons entirely within our control and not attributable to you
Refunds will not be provided merely because the outcome is not what was hoped for or expected.

-
Your full name

We may require written evidence supporting any refund request. Lack of supporting evidence may result in denial of the request.

7. No Refund for Outcomes

Fees paid are for services rendered, not for results achieved.
Clients agree that:
-
No guarantee of outcome was made
-
Differences between expectations and results are not grounds for refund

8. Cancellation Fees

If you choose to cancel services after work has commenced:
-
No refund will be provided
-
You remain responsible for all fees incurred up to the point of cancellation

9. Fees and Expenses

Some operational costs may be incurred before work begins (e.g., travel, research, planning). Such costs may be deducted from any refund amount if considered reasonable and documented.

10. Third-Party Costs

Where services involve third-party suppliers, contractors, or external costs, refunds of these amounts are subject to provider terms and may not be available.
